What You’ll Do

As an EHS Trainee, you will support the organisation’s commitment to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with workplace health and safety inspections.
  • Participate in safety audits and compliance assessments.
  • Support hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Assist with incident reporting and investigations.
  • Maintain health and safety records and registers.
  • Promote employee health and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Support environmental inspections and compliance monitoring.
  • Collect and record environmental performance data.
  • Assist with waste management activities.
  • Help implement sustainability initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Saint-Gobain EHS Trainee YES Programme 2026, you must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification.
  • SAMTRAC qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and internal auditing.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.

Candidates who demonstrate attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and a willingness to learn will have an advantage.
